- Drink lots of water – Just 8 glasses of water per day could do wonders for you. It assists in the digestion of food, helps to keep your muscles and joints lubricated and hydrated, and even helps keep skin healthy. So be sure to make a point of drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily.
- Eat vitamin rich fruits and vegetables – Vitamins are the batteries that power long life and good health. When you increase your vitamin intake you can significantly increase your quality of life. So be sure to have lots of nutritious vitamins in your daily routine.
- Exercise regularly – Regular exercise is the perfect way to keep your body functional and supple. It’s a scientific fact that joints that don’t move often will get stiff and rigid. Keeping active is the best way to stay mobile later in life.
- Don’t spend too much time in the sun – The sun is dangerous for us all. Especially for us that are past a certain age. As get age, our skin our skin loses fat and water content, thus making it thinner. This allows UV light to penetrate deeply into the skin. Direct exposure to this could lead to one of several skin diseases over time.
The sun can be good for us, after all it is our natural source of pure Vitamin D. Just be sure to wear a high-quality sunscreen whenever you have to go outside for long periods of time. This is a rule to follow whether it’s summer or winter.
- Meditate – Getting your mind to a calm place is one of the greatest forms of stress relief. Studies show that people who are too preoccupied for a little quiet time have much more health issues. It is a great idea to get a few minutes of meditation each day.

It’s not that hard to do either. Simply so to a quiet place, cut all noise and distractions, close your eyes, and focus of your breath as you slowly breathe in and out.
- Minimize alcohol intake – People who are middle age or beyond need not consume copious amounts of alcohol. It’s plain bad for us in large amounts. It also takes a toll on our organs. Especially the liver.
An occasional glass of wine might be fine; however, it is recommended to consult your physician before even doing that. If the plan is to get the most health and happiness out of life, keep the alcohol consumption to a minimum.
- Avoid tobacco – Tobacco is like solid alcohol. Except much worse. This lethal leaf should not be used by anyone who is actively seeking to preserve their life and live it to the fullest. Whether smoking or chewing, tobacco use is not a great idea and needs to be stopped immediately.
